    Data acquisition in Precision Livestock Farming for improved calf rearing

    The networking of electronic process control systems of- fers new possibilities for individual calf management. The different systems are implemented as automatic sys- tems or robots in order to reduce labor. Within this paper, the experimental setup of the underlying investigation and first results with a statistical evaluation of feeding data are presented. Intake amounts of water and dry mat- ter as a function of age are shown. The results require an individual adaptation of the milk-drinking programme. All known authors either refer separately to drinking wa- ter, feed concentrate, forage intake or body weight but so far there has been no evaluation of combining these data. Use of computer-controlled interlinked feeding systems allows economic advantages in many respects and pro- vides a comprehensive decision-support system for the management.

    Möglichkeiten einer gemeindeumfassenden Gewannebewirtschaftung am Beispiel Zeilitzheim

    Eine Virtuelle Flurbereinigung in Form einer Gewannebewirtschaftung ganzer Gemarkungen bietet Landwirten in klein strukturierten Gebieten die Möglichkeit, die Vorteile steigender Schlaggrößen ohne die Durchführung eines oft schwierig durchzusetzenden Flurneuordnungsverfahrens kurz- und langfristig zu nutzen. Die Verringerung von Zeitaufwand, benötigten Betriebsmitteln, Vorbeetflächen und ?oeberlappungen entlasten die Umwelt, den Boden und den Geldbeutel des Landwirts gleichermaßen. Durch die Nutzung der automatisierten Betriebsdatenerfassung können hierbei alle Erträge und Aufwände der gemeinsam genutzten Gewanne besitzgerecht den beteiligten Landwirten zugeordnet werden.

    Possibilities of Community-Encompassing Transborder Farming Using Zeilitzheim as an Example

    Virtual land consolidation in the form of transborder farming of entire community areas offers farmers in small-structured areas the possibility of using the advantages of larger field sizes both in the long and the short run without requiring field rearrangement, which is often difficult to accomplish. The reduction of time requirements, necessary operating resources, forecrop areas, and overlapping areas equally reduce the burden on the environment, the soil, and the farmer´s wallet. The use of automatic data acquisition allows all yields and expenditures related to the cooperatively used transborder fields to be attributed to the partici- pating farmers according to their property.
