Feed enzymes have been used for a long time in pig feeding. A new ob- jective is the reduction of the viscosity of liquid feed through the addition of α-amylase. Using the same measuring method, the most important feedstuffs and feed mixtures for pigs were analyzed. Mixing- and flow curves were measured, compared and assessed. An [alpha]-amylase marketed by BASF (Natustarch ®) reduces the viscosity of liquid feed rich in starch.en
